DJ Heatstroke
Known for his flawless mixing and bravado, DJ Heatstroke is rapidly making a mark on the DC/Metropolitan area’s hotspots. Born Devin Alexander, DJ Heatstroke has been around music his entire life. His father was an established musician and song writer in DC who worked regularly with industry giants. Talented musicians were always passing through the doors of his house to jam or record. It was only natural that Devin picked up his first instrument at an early age. At 11, he was given a drum set and, that is when his talented musical journey began. He would eventually progress to other music endeavors such as recording and audio engineering. It was during the countless hours in the recording studio he refined his ear for crafting quality sound. He recorded his first full studio album with the Barking Crickets band. From that debut album the songs "Carousel" and "Groovin" received generous airplay on local Salisbury stations.
DJ Heatstroke always had an affinity for entertaining people. Heatstroke was always the one bringing the latest mix CDs to parties to help fuel the dance floor. He always felt the need to elevate the party in some way. In order to do this he bought a DJ mixer and microphone, which turned out to be the perfect formula. Thus, DJ Heatstroke was born.
DJ Heatstroke’s passion for Djing stems from a variety of musical influences and genres. It is not uncommon to hear him mix a classic 80s song into one of today’s chart topping hits with ease. He is motivated by some of the greatest DJs and performers such as Michael Jackson, Daft Punk, DJ AM, Paul Oakenfold, Roc Raida, and DJ Q-bert, and incorporates the best of these artists into each of his sets. When he is not busy DJing, Heatstroke is always in the studio working with other Sluggerz Entertainment artists on their projects. Currrently, DJ Heatstroke spins in the DC metropolitan area to packed houses in Adams Morgan, Georgetown, and College Park.
